First Qkillful release on this blog

(This is version v2.0.1) of the show

The Run (Round 1):

Every player has their own round.

Each player has to go through 6 questions, however only have 10 seconds on the clock to answer it.

However, if you get a question right, you get two things; 20 points to your score and add 5 seconds to the timer.

If you answer wrong, don’t worry, you can answer as many times within the time limit.

The only way to skip a question is to say ‘Pass’ or ‘Veto’, which does not let you get anything and moves you to the next question.

Then either you answer/skip all 6 questions or run out of time, your round ends.

UI:

(Note: This is my first time using GIMP to draw. If the timer turns to Purple (It turns clockwise), your round is over. Each section is 5 seconds, and this round has gone though 5 seconds.)

The Puzzle (Round 2):

There are 7 rounds; 4 solo rounds, for each player, and 3 ‘Free for All’ (FFA) rounds (every player plays). The solo round and FFA round have different rules.

Solo round: Each player has 30 seconds on the timer to answer a question. Every 10 seconds, two things happen; you will get a hint and the points will decrease. If you want to get a hint (which, in turn, decreases the points if you won) early, ask for so. To answer, press your button. If you answer right, you get these amount of points:

  • If you don’t use any hint, you get 60 points.

  • If you use a hint, you get 30 points.

  • If you use both hints, you get 15 points.

If you answer wrong, you lose 20 points. If you run out of points this way, you are out of the show.

UI:

(Note the bar on the yellow area. Then that bar crosses to the orange area, unless you already asked for it, you get a hint, thus decreasing the points if you could have won before getting the hint.)

FFA round:

There are 45 seconds. A hint is given out every 15 seconds. When you buzz in, you answer the question.

  • If you answer right, you get the amount of time left on the clock (and the question ends). (So if there is 30 seconds left until the question ends, you get 30 points.)

  • If you answer wrong, you lose your buzz and lose 15 points. If you run out of points this way, you are out of the show.

UI:

(Note the timer on the right. If you answer correctly, you get the points that the timer is showing. Also, if you buzz in, their player panel (same level as the said timer) will turn light red (but not pink.))

The React (Round 3):

There are 6 rounds, 3 30 seconds rounds and 3 60 seconds rounds. In both types of rounds, you try to answer as quickly as possible (by typing your answer to your computer), and be right. If you are right:

  • First to get right: 100 points

  • Second to get right: 75 points

  • Third to get right: 50 points

  • Last to get right: 25 points

Answering wrong makes you not get anything.

UI:

(Note the 50.32 number; that's how much is left in the round. Also note the green 1 circle, which means player 1 is locked in.)

The Auction (Round 4):

There are 12 question boxes to choose from, 9 are 60 seconds ones, while the other four are 90 seconds. Each player picks 2 question boxes, one at a time, in player order. Then that player will play a question with 60 seconds on the clock, with one second of the question running making you lose one point. To answer, buzz in and it will stop the clock. Answer right, and you get the question value, answer wrong and you lose 5 points and you have to continue the question. However, if someone thinks that they know the answer, they can buzz in instead and they get the same treatment, but instead of you losing points, they lose points instead of they get it wrong.

UI:

(Note that the question was gone for a second; this led to the player losing one point.)

THE ENDURANCE (FINAL ROUND):

Starting at the player with the littlest points, players take turns to answer questions. Every second, it is taking X of points. The X in question depends on how long the game has gone for: starting on 1 point per second, every 30 seconds, the amount of points decreased increase by 0.5 (so then 1.5 points every second after 30 seconds, 2 points every second after 1 minute, etc. Note that if your points would have decimal amounts, that does not count until it’s re-added to not be a decimal point, so let’s say that you have 180 points and you are losing 1.5 points per second; that means that the first second, you have 179 points, then the next second, you have 177.) If you know the answer to the question, say it. If you get it right, you gain one point and pass the clock to the next person in line, answer wrong or have to pass, the question is vetoed and you get a new question. If you run out of points (either having 0 points or negative points), you are out. The last person with points, wins Qkillful!

UI:

(Note the 1:03; that is a clock on how long the game has gone for and for every time that clock gets to 30 seconds, the multiplier increases by x0.5 (not halfing it))
